Bug bites?

My 13 yr old DD spent the night with a friend on Saturday, when she came home on Sunday she was covered in huge red blotches all over, her arms and legs.  they kinda look like really big mosquito bites.    All of the red blotches are about 1-2 inches in diameter and then a raised red bump in the middle....they are itching really bad.  She used clamine lotion last night  and then this morning it has spread to her fingers, even inbetween her fingers.  So we're pretty sure its NOT mosquito bites, but thats what they look like.  FYI...she is allergic to mosquito bites to where everytime she steps outside she is supposed to spray the bug spray that is 25% DEET, or whatever the highest is.  She of course didn't do it.  She's supposed to go to the doctor tomorrow and he's told us he's pretty sure its not mosquito's.  Background info...she had mosquito bites so bad one time and has a HUGE habit of picking them that she got one infected before and it ended up getting the size of the softball...her skin is really sensitive.  Any idea or what we can do to help relieve the itching??

I would post a pic but I'm still at work.  TIA.

Not sure...she said they didn't go outside anyway...the house she stayed at was off of Holt rd so I don't think there's many woodsy type areas...I dunno.  No one else has it.

I'm sure you've already tried benadryl and cortisone cream?

Poor thing! Itching is just awful.

It sounds like bed bug bites to me..... Bed bugs are almost impossible to get rid of. Make sure to wash everything she took and brought back with her until you do know what it is.

Give her benadryl - the oral kind will help a lot.

Do bedbug bites get that large?  Here's hoping it's not that!  You're right...it's nearly impossible to rid your house of them once you have them. Ick.

Fleas?? Fleas are really hard to get rid of and if that's what it is she probably came home with some on her. That would explain the new ones.

Poison ivy is the only thing I can think that would spread. If she's extremely sensitive to it, she can pick it up without coming in direct contact with it. It could have been on the friend's clothes or something else in the house that she touched.

I'd try hydrocortizone (as strong as they sell OTC) for the itching. Something else that's good is a Benadryl in lotion form. Hope she stops itching soon.

Can you get fleas with out having any pets??  Oh man I hope its not bed bugs, oh thats so gross.  she goes to the dr tomorrow afternoon.  It does kind of look like the hives picture.  she has swimming at school today and the chlorine dried some of it up.
