This Christmas season, Indy MomsLikeMe.com is teaming up with the Indiana Salvation Army to support those in our community who need help. But we can’t do this alone.
We need YOU. Yes, you. We’re creating an Indy Moms team and we need everyone to take this challenge with us!
There are so many ways you can help.
* First, join our group and help bump our post in the forums. We need cheerleaders!
* Second, become a part of our virtual kettle team. The password is "indymoms" - all lowercase.
Every little bit helps. No contribution is too small. But if each of us would give $5.50 a week, we could help the Salvation Army reach its goal. Think about it. That’s lunch money. I’ll gladly give up my lunch money one day a week to provide shelter to a woman fleeing domestic violence. Are you with me?
* Third, rock the Circle with us from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12. That’s right. Our Mom Squad is going to ring bells for the Salvation Army kettle outside of the Emmis Communications building on Monument Circle during the 2009 WIBC Radiothon. Stop by and ring with us, or volunteer to help out with the Radiothon (there’s even a free MLM T-shirt in it for you!).
They really need help with the Radiothon on Sunday, Dec. 13. If you can donate an hour of your time, please contact Elizabeth at 224-1010. Tell her you're an IndyMom, that way I can make arrangements to get your MLM T-shirt for you.
UPDATE 11/16: The need is GREAT this year, ladies. We've been asked if we can help support the toy drive. It turns out we'll be ringing bells on the Circle the day before the drive ends. So, if you're going to join us to ring bells, it would be great if you could also bring an unwrapped toy to donate. I'm personally looking at other ways I can help the toy drive, and maybe you could too. For example, my church has a huge women's event Dec. 8, and I'm going to see if we can get everyone to bring a toy. Let me know if you have any other ideas on how we can help the toy drive.
Together, we can make a difference. Come on, Indy Moms. Who's in?
